Here’s a fantastic picture of Larry Scott, the first ever Mr Olympia, doing ring flys. This is an awesome strength and isolation exercise if you have the strength to do them with correct form.

There are a couple of other bodyweight fly techniques I know of.

Swiss ball bodyweight fly:
Another form of bodyweight fly can also be done by using 2 swiss balls and balancing them on your forearms and elbows (much the same as a pec dec). You start with your arms parallel to the floor and roll the swiss balls in using your pecs. It’s a lot harder than it sounds!

Towel bodyweight fly:
All you need is a couple of small towels or socks to do this one. Start with both hands together on top of the socks or towels, the same as you’d start a close grip push up. Now slowly slide your hands out until your chest is about 20-30cm from the floor. Slowly pull your hands together back to the starting position. You need a good polished floor for this one. See the animation below:

Bodyweight exercises are great for strength. Do you do any body weight exercises?

Thanks Men’s Health for the pic.
