This past couple of weeks I’ve been getting a few emails about weight gain supplements. There are a lot of weight gain products on the market and some of the readers of this blog are confused about what weight gain products they should be using.

I’m a true ectomorph, 6′2″, very slim build, thin frame, long stringy muscles. I am no stranger to weight gain products. My body type requires a lot of calories to grow. When I started weight training I was 126 pounds, now I am 205. Weight gain shakes have been a staple in my diet for the past 3 years.

So what are the best weight gainers?

Why do I like these weight gainers?

  1. They’re good value for money
  2. They have lower sugar contents than other weight gainers
  3. They have less fat that other weight gainers
  4. They taste good (I’ve tried choc and strawberry in both products)
  5. They provide the amount of calories I need

I recommend both of these products to anyone with a thin build or who is having trouble getting the daily calories they need to increase strength and build muscle. Have a shake first thing in the morning, between meals, post workout and before bed.

Hi,

In water, CytoGainer has 140mg of Cholesterol. That’s about 46% of the %DV. Don’t you think it is too much. Also, N-Large2 has 28g of sugar per serving, (112 calories just from sugars) which sounds very high to me. Seems like BSN is a more balanced weight gainer. Haven’t tried it yet though.

How long did it take you to gain that weight?? Im about 5′9″ and 125 and i would just to get to around 160ish. Hearing that makes me think it is possible. Do you think i can get to that by having a good diet and a weight gainer. Or should i work out also.

If you eat more food/weight gainer and don’t workout you’ll gain fat and not muscle.

im 6′2″ 155 and i just got BSN true mass i have a really fast metabolism is this a good weight gainer and how many times a day should i take it. (and i do lift)
